Yesterday I found herbivorous insects from the suborder Caelifera of the order Orthoptera in my backyard. These insects have antennae that are almost always shorter than their body and also a short ovipositor.
One of the distinctive features of this insect is its jumping. The grasshopper is one of the animals with the greatest leaps in the world. Reported by the One Kind Planet page, grasshoppers can jump as far as 20 times their own body size. That's the equivalent of a human jumping as far as a basketball court in one jump!
