I actually don't own any machine for now but as an engineering student, I was poor opportune to work with a Lathe Machine. The lathe machine performs multiple functions with metal work as it can be used for boring, bending, drilling, threading and other activities provided you know how to operate it. I am quite sure that people who are familiar with metal works will have an insight of what Lathe Machine is all about due to it's multiple functions and uses.
I was able to form a screw like surface on a rough metal rod after making use of the lathe machine to smoothen the metallic surface and also reducing the size to it's appropriate size. There are also different components of the lathe machine which includes the bed, tool post, tail stock, head stock, chuck and many other components you can see in the image above.
