It is time for another #ThreeTuneTuesday. For those not familiar with it, here's an explanation.

In every guitarist's life there comes a point where they kind of have to research a little bit Jimmy Hendrix. He revolutionized the art of playing on a Fender Stratocaster. When it was my turn to enter that realm, I picked the song Hey Joe as my first project around 10 years ago and during my search I stumbled upon an interpretation by Popa Chubby.
Isn't it just wonderful how he can make his guitar sing? And his rythm playing is so spot on. While Angus Young is my favorite SG Player for Rock, I found a new Idol when it comes to the Stratocaster and Blues.
So I went on to listen to more of his songs and especially covers. Reinterpreting a song and giving it your own stamp, listening to different versions, this is important when you learn an instrument yourself. Start finding your own style as soon as possible. And as with many things in life we start the learning process by looking how others already did it. So how did he interpret other songs?
Yes, we learn by playing other songs, most times we try to replay the original. Sometimes we mess things up and it doesn't take long for someone to point out: "That's not how it's played". So what? If it sounds good, it probably is. 馃槈 So if you are learning an instrument yourself, maybe there's another version of a song out there that's more to your liking? Try orienting your own playing and instrument learning on that song version then.
But Popa Chubby also has his own original Songs. Clearly influenced by Jimmy Hendrix's chord embellishments he brings us a rocking blues outside the "12 bar" mix and I just want to play along with it in an endless loop.
