It is time for another #ThreeTuneTuesday. For those not familiar with it, here's an explanation.

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Or why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and hopefully upvote it. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music.
Outside of Germany the most known German band is Rammstein. They even show up on #ttt posts every now and then. But German music has a lot more to offer. In the early years of this century my then girlfriend and now my wife introduced me to a band called "The Wise Guys".
They did a wonderful acapella show with some funny original tunes. While most of their songs are in German, there is one classic which they re-recorded in English. So we will ease into this topic with a German band singing in English.
When this song first came out we listened to it on endless repeat to follow the recipe (in German of course). When we finally had the cookies done they were delicious.
Inspired by David Bowie's Space Oddity German Songwriter and Singer Peter Schilling wrote Major Tom in the early 80s. It was a party song during my youth and I recently discovered a young band covering a lot of 80s songs in rock version, including this one. Their band name Kontrollverlust is German for Loss Of Control.
I was 13 years old when I listened to "Die 脛rzte" for the first time. They were the German punk band back then and this was (and probably still is) their most famos song.
I finally started to rebel against my parents as every teenager has to. I bought a copy of their best of album and put it on really loud. It did not take long for my parents to enter my room and asking what kind of music that was. I told them and to my astonishment they replied "That's good music, put up the volume and leave the door open." Never was a rebellion crushed so fast.
