Big science in my opinion has become a way of life for the millennial babies a generation that has been raised on technology with the benefits of being tech savvy I feel as though big science is almost second nature from my observation many have embraced science almost like a religion so to speak. In a generation where many people are inquisitive big science can gather many minds together much more easily oppose to previous generations thus helping in my opinion the extensive plus expensive research that goes into big science. Additionally, with a larger growing population that lives longer big science can advance much more efficiently, and quickly with the aid from the population from the questionnaires to revenue collected from taxes in addition to the general population giving ideas to big science such as the legendary boxer George Foreman endorsing InventHelp a company that will help an individual focus their ideas to be patent then used by companies for consumer good (InventHelp, 2015). I think the importance and role of big science as it relates to the scientific endeavor is significant due to a number of reasons such as how science stimulate a nation's economy creating job growth plus opening up the field in education for individuals to learn promoting skills, and the popularization of science helps bring cultures together to share ideas additionally bring a better understanding about each other. CERN is one of the largest scientific equipment in the world it was established in 1954 based in nuclear research combining some of the world's top scientist from many different nations it's core program of studying subatomic particles in relation how the universe works by creating conditions that prevailed at the beginning of the universe (Bowles & Kaplan, 2012). Next, The Manhattan Project in the era of World War II the United States developed the atomic bomb that was considered to the beginning of big science (Bowles & Kaplan, 2012). Judging from both The Manhattan Project, and CERN dealing with economics I would say that The Manhattan Project had greater significance benefiting the United States during World War II ensuring the U.S. being a superpower while oppose to CERN being overly expensive in addition to losing strong support (Bowles & Kaplan, 2012) in my opinion even though CERN may have been Scrapped in 1993 I think that CERN has had more of a cultural significance especially with millennial babies due to the curiosity of the origin of the universe and mankind as we know it. CERN has intrigued the common person to want to perform physics experiments on YouTube while The Manhattan Project is not necessarily really sought after due to it's history meaning we live in a world where people want to bridge the gap between cultures so CERN is a way for scientific minds to unite to link ideas about subatomic particle in relations to the universe and the conditions that create our reality.
