When i was in Santa Cruz in Ecuador i took a cruise over to Galapagos islands my main purpose to visit this beautiful island was not only for the snorkeling but to see the marine wildlife like sea lions, marine iguanas and birds they are all friendly animals if you remain sensible and don't impose danger to them they will even approach you , like this marine iguana also known as the sea iguana or saltwater iguana.
These are the only lizards in the world that have the ability to forage in the sea, making it a marine reptile. They look fierce, but are actually gentle and they survive by eating on underwater algae and seaweed so that makes them a vegetarian reptile. The marine iguana can dive and stay submerged for almost an hour, but on average spends 5 to 10 minutes underwater.
