I think for some places, it is better going with tour and knowledgable guide. For those Inca ruins, you actually can go on your own if money is not problem, and you can do your homework before visiting

Bolivia and Peru share border on this lake. you could visit Titicaca from both sides. Base on the name, people have a joke that "Titi" belongs to Peru and "Caca" belongs to Bolivia.

In my experience, the rice in Peru and SA generally is too dry. I would much prefer our Asian sticky rice rather than this deadly dry one. haha. And it is too salty. it's even much saltier when you go
