The roses are still in bloom but in desperate need of pruning, perhaps some early morning this week, as the temperatures have been nudging up to 90, and that is just too dang hot to do any nonsense in the garden.
The gardenias have begun to fade but the fragrance still fills the air.
The blue hydrangeas signal that Summer has arrived.
The heat caused the lettuce to bolt!
I read somewhere that if I trim the lettuce down to the stem it will regrow. I don't know if this true but I will give it a try.
My fig tree is beginning to bare fruit. Yum!
My first day lily of the season!
The petunias are doing quite well this year.
The cucumber vine seems to love the hugel mound. And the peppers right behind them are growing strong.
The tomatoes are ripening upon the vines.
With many more on the way! I have to cover the tomatoes with bird netting to prevent the pirate squirrels from raiding and taking away the red treasure.
The snow peas are still coming in heavy, but with the heat I think this will soon come to end.
A general photograph of the garden. As I mentioned I am utilizing mostly containers this year as the weeding had become to much for me to handle. I did carve out some areas where I am no till gardening.
The zucchini have begun to flower so hopefully soon I will be getting some nice squash.
I also seeded this week, some beans, butternut squash and ocra.
Perhaps another week or two and the cabbage will be ready!
Thanks for spending a little time with me in the garden.
Peace out and have a very blessed Sunday.
