On my latest trek to the coin shop I picked up two half dollars and two Barber dollars, for a smidge over one ounce in American Junk Silver.
Normally when buying Junk silver I just let the store owner pick them out. Some folks like to pour over the coins and pick the ones in the best condition with the least wear and tear. I guess this is the best way to do it because the more pristine the coin the more silver!
HINT: If your goal is to get the coins with the least wear and tear, my experience has been to buy the Kennedy Half Dollar.
Most of these coins had very little circulation and thus the least wear and tear.
A few weeks ago I got a really warn out Barber Quarter, I mean if I didn't know that it was a Barber Quarter no one could actually tell it was a coin.
So not wanting to have just the one sorry old Barber Quarter, this time I picked out two Barber Quarters with a little less wear.
At least you can see the outline of the Eagle on the Reverse.
I have been absent from HIVE for this past week as I went on a road trip to . . . .
any guesses?
Peace out and Stack On!
