How was everyone’s fright pre Halloween weekend?? Anyone dress up and go to an event?
I certainly did!! I traveled to the Midlands to my parents house who live on the outskirts of a town, semi countryside I refer to it as! I initially wasn’t going to travel up as I didn’t want to see anybody and explain that I’m currently not in a job, I find it embarrassing..however as my other half travelled upto Wales to go hiking (I declined) he urged me to go visit and partake in the party event! As he knows Halloween and dressing up is my ultimate favourite, he didn’t want me to miss out or be a hermit. Plus he knew it would lift my mood, I think a lot of the negative thoughts derive from me and this over use of my imagination..it’s all in my mind!
For the past 3-4 Year’s , the folks have made use of the large amount of land at hand and have held a bonfire evening. They usually invite their friends and it’s just a great atmosphere! Everyone brings a drink, and a choice of their burger/sausage, we fire up the bbq in the early evening. My folks have a barn which in the colder months we use to have the bbqs in, and because this is England..incase of the rain we are all still sheltered..so far though we’ve had no rain on bonfire night which has been a miracle!!!
Guests are also encouraged to bring anything they have that can be chucked into the pile for the bonfire...
It’s just a great cosy vibe esp for the folks who have little kids, as it’s not a crowded place, it’s on private land, and the kids can play a part in the evenings events. They get handed sparklers and can stand at a safe distance at the Bonfire pit. We usually frown around by the fire to get toasty warm but the convos and laughs had whilst stood there are literally the best!!! Everyone’s on a jolly mood and we all get along, because there’s not a huge crowd we can all hear one another, no one is singled out and it’s like a huge great big bond!!
Unfortunately my Halloween outfit arrived too late (grrrr you Amazon) so had to make to with a skeleton thing. I honestly looked like something out of the purge, but the little kids loved it even if they were a teeny bit spooked out hahahaha.
Anyways it would be great to see what you guys dressed up as! Get involved.
