Shortly after the Harvey floodwaters receded,

our friends @XtrodinaryPilot and @XtrodinaryMompreneur came to visit and see how they and the @HarveyReliefFund could help with relief efforts. One evening, we made up several gallons of red beans with sausage and rice and went out in search of hungry souls.

That's how we met and were accidentally recruited into The Cajun Army.

The Cajun Army...A Brief History
During the Louisiana Floods of 2016, The Cajun Navy, a volunteer group, was organized to provide flood search and rescue missions. In between water rescues, the thought sprang up what's going to happen once the floodwaters recede? Well, another volunteer group was born, The Cajun Army. As boots on the ground, The Cajun Army works to gut and demo flooded and mold contaminated homes, and to help homeowners be able to safely inhabit their homes after the storm.

Fast forward to Hurricane Harvey. The Cajun Army has deployed volunteer units to the areas of Rockport, Houston, and Beaumont / Port Arthur Texas. The Cajun Army consists of all volunteers, some that are weekend warriors, others that volunteer for a week, and some dedicated and devoted angels that have turned The Cajun Army into a non-monetary career.

We need more volunteers! There are 100's of homes that have not been touched since the Harvey floodwaters receded nearly a month ago. The people of Southeast Texas need help rebuilding their homes, and oddly enough this process starts with tearing down!
