All data on the Internet, photos, music or large data center data or small data, server data - it is possible to store these data at the same level as a small glass of water. Japanese scientists have made this impossible possible, named DNA data storage.

DNA data storage

Although there is no definite account of how much data is stored on the Internet, approximately 15 jatabobite data is stored on the entire internet. 15 jettabytes = 15,000,000,000,000 GB These data are stored in large data centers. Such as Google data center, large servers, small servers, and on your computer. This information collectively created the whole Internet. But how do we store so much data?

We store these data in a common way. For example, we keep all our data in magnetic tape, hard drive, solid state drive, flash storage etc. But in the current study, it is known that DNA is one thing that can preserve the digital data. As you also know, if a scientist finds fossils of an old animal, then he can know from his DNA that the animal was small or not large; What did the animal eat, how many years had survived, etc.

All information of an animal is preserved in DNA and millions of years later, this information is not lost, and today it is possible to recover data from the DNA of that thousand years old. Based on this concept, many experts have tried to save the digital data in such a way that DNA is not possible? And if data is stored, then how much data can be stored and how can it be done? Can the data be recovered? There have been many studies on this subject for the last few years.

In recent year, some students of Harvard University researched the matter and they stored data in DNA and proved that data storage in DNA is really possible. A year ago, a group of researchers used to store data within DNA and succeeded in recovering them and they were able to prove that DNA must be used as a data storage. Because they were able to do both the store and the recovery.

According to the scientists, it is possible to store 1 MB of data in 1-millimeter cubic DNA. It means 1 millimeter cubic DNA = 10,000,000,000 GB storage. The eyes grow bigger

1-centimeter cubic DNA is possible to store 1 zettabyte data. And since the whole internet is 15 zettabytes, so 15 centimeters cubes of DNA can capture the entire internet. That means, it is possible to preserve the entire Internet in a place similar to a water consuming glass.

How DNA Data Storage Process Works?

There are four separate algae nucleotides in the DNA. These are Adenine, Thymine, Guanine and Cytosine. There are some concepts in these 11th-grade books. However, the digital data is in the form of one and zero and in Bits and DNA data is also ATCG.

Now if this Zero and WAN is encoded as ATCG, then it is very easy to store digital data in DNA very easily. In this case, the meaning of A is 0, T means 1-C, the G is encoded with the value of the separate Alfa Huffman code, and all the data is brought to DN's nucleotide pattern ATCG. After this, a new DNA is created using this ATCG pattern, where the data is encoded. Then the data is decoded while retrieved and returned to Digital Wan and Zero and thus the data is recovered. This process is very complex and very expensive. There are many steps to take and load data. But this is not impossible, and researchers have assured that by 2025 we can use DNA as DNA data storage.

DNA data storage is very convenient. Because it does not require electricity to store the data. It is possible to store stored data for thousands of years without it. It is unlikely that the data will be lost or suddenly lost like a hard drive. And the most interesting fact is, how much data can be stored at the same place in a match box. Because 1 millimeter cubic DNA can save data, if it is to do with a common hard drive, it may not be possible with several hundred hard drives.

DNA data storage has two disadvantages. One is the process of recovering the data from DNA so far so slow. But a lot of work is being done on this subject. Scientists are continuing research to access Random data from DNA. The second problem is its price. In fact, there is no reason to worry about these two things, because the technology will improve, the next two days, the difficulty will be reduced. The advantages and advantages of this are the main thing.

It's not about the days, it's the nineteenth century. There was a time when there was a need to bring a hard drive to the store to save 5 MB of data. And today there is a glass of thinking about keeping the entire internet.

So this is the next technology and the next science and I can say with full faith that DNA storage is going to be successful in the future and we will also see its use. Maybe you do not have DNA data storage on my computer. But large research centers and data centers must have DNA storage.
