This day was the coldest day I have ever experienced in my whole life. And it will be very difficult to top that, as it was -42°C!
Kiruna is a town in the Swedish Lapland and it is located above the arctic circle. That should explain the freezing temperatures. However, the locals were telling us that it was a bit extreme, even for them, as they were used to colds of up to about -30°C only!
Anyway, we were still able to go out and enjoy ourselves. Everything was so beautiful and serene. Kiruna is very close to the Abisko National Park, which is considered one of the best places to see the Northern Lights, and we did see them and it was an amazing experience.
