Another thing is that 1. can be broken by Onboarding, which is merely adding new people on the chain and also User retention, many users come and are unnoticed. Maybe something you forgot is the awesome initiative from pizza, headed by @hivetrending through the monthly competition, I don't see many initiatives like that to promote newbies.
