Take Real Commitments
We live in a world where people have no idea how a real commitment looks, feels and smells like, in a world where people are taking commitments just by words but not by actions. Most of the people have no idea how to be one hundred percent devoted to something and don’t let yourself distracted by other shiny things across the street.
This is not a statement I’m just throwing out here, but math backs it. Only by analyzing a lifelong commitment most of the people are taking, the marriage, the rates of divorce are impressive. They differ from age to age but as I’ve read on Wikipedia nearly 40% of the people don’t go further than 15 years with their marriage. That may seem like a lot but considering that the marriage is theoretically for life, it seems that people are not that devoted.
And this is not happening only in marriage, you just have to look out the door, and you’ll see a lot of people investing a tremendous amount of time in something at the beginning but soon after they are dropping everything off.
My Commitment
Maybe most of you don’t know this, but six months ago, when I joined Steem, I knew that success on this platform is going to take a long time and that I would have to work a lot more in the beginning. But I would have the possibility to work less or work on more things later in the future and get paid a lot more. I knew that I would make pennies for months and I still took the commitment to making it here.
Knowing that you will have to spend between four and even up to ten hours sometimes on this platform and still make nothing sounds discouraging. But I always kept on going and never even considered the option of dropping out because I realized that my time is better invested here even if I’m making like a dollar than it is somewhere else where I wouldn’t get anything.
The Problem
The problem is that most of the people do not have the discipline to take up something and dominate it thus they accept anything that comes in their way. It’s like the wolf used to say They either buy or fucking die. That is how a real commitment looks like. Your target has to be present in your conscious most of the time, and you have to think about it even in your sleep.
I think I mentioned this a long time ago in a post, but the average human has about twelve thousand thoughts when the professional athlete has only four thousand. You know why is that? Because the athlete doesn’t think about what’s new in the media or what Kim Kardashian is doing lately, his only thoughts are about his goal and his commitment to achieving it.
Conclusion
Don’t be like the sea of the mediocrity, when you want to achieve something achieve it at all prices, no turning back, full speed ahead. If you have a mentality like this, you are unstoppable, if you don’t settle for less than you deserve there is no way you are not going to achieve your goals. Keep on going no matter what.
As an example, today I had a shitload of stuff to do, and I got on my computer three hours later than usual, and I had no article ready for the day. First, of course, that I had to finish my chores for @OCD, so my time got lesser. Instead of dropping out and not posting today I decided to fire up a green tea, get some inspiration, find a theme and write something.
To have an unstoppable mentality is no easy task and it takes up a lot of practice and learning, but in the end, everything is well worth it. You can achieve something like this through constant learning, a lifestyle that I’m going to talk about sometime this week, and mentors.
Take real commitments, don’t drop off.
