Oh man, I really know that feeling, it happens to me with almost anything I touch, I get to something filled with excitement and interest and then I stop for a couple of days and get on something else and then I don't get to the initial thing in a really looooonnngg time, it's a bummer as you say.

Funny thing tho, you mention 999 as a game you came back to only thru youtube videos but in my case I could not stop playing it until I got til the end, such a great game, it's a big favourite of mine haha. Maybe I'll get to that point with Celeste with a little more of patience, at least I hope for that.
