Who am I? This is a question that I should ask myself every day. It's a question that helps me to evaluate my life, and what it means to me. I am John Augustine, and I am a person with different personalities, characteristics, and identities. I was born in the Philippines and grew up here. I am the type of person who likes to walk the walk and take action in my life. I look at life, especially at this age, as a time to experience new things. A time to get away from the same everyday routine, and enjoy the short time we have on earth. Some of my goals may seem unrealistic, but it will always give me something to aim for.
One thing about me that is important to know though is that I am a shy person and at times I feel incredibly awkward around people, especially those that I don’t know. But once I get to know people and are comfortable with my environment I am great. Not the shy and wary exterior, but the real person inside. The person who can have razor-sharp wit fuelled by sarcasm, but who is also incredibly warm and supportive of those I care about.
I am also a very principled person and stand strong on what is right and wrong. I am also a very straight and honest person. I understand and know that we all put on a show sometimes and do not show who we really are or what we feel but some people do this constantly and those kinds of people I cannot stand.
They say that there are two sides to every coin and that sums me up pretty well. I might be outgoing and sociable, but I am also shy and awkward. I can be warm and loving, but I am also capable of cutting someone down with my sharp tongue. Everything about me happens in contrast and depends on who I am with and how comfortable I feel around them.
