Very few images or icons have universal power as the simple skull. It is often associated with concepts that include: death, punishment, vengeance, justice, and power. Regardless of place of birth of social class, mortality is the common denominator that levels the playing field. The meaning crosses language barriers and evokes strong emotions instantly.

There are cultural variances to exactly how people receive the image of the skull. Some people believe it brings bad luck and destruction. Yet others aren't so afraid and they revere the skull with humility. Some believe death is nothing to be afraid of because it is only the beginning of afterlife. There is reason to celebrate the humanity in all of us by recognizing the human body. Even our skeletal components are vital to life.

In comics and movies, both superheroes and villains alike would have images of a skull as part of their design. With the skull, no words are required to help set the tone of seriousness and urgency. Even in real life, people chose to wear fashion items containing skulls to establish their identity and convey their attitude. Without being outright menacing, the Skull can tell the world "don't mess with me".

I have seen many military members and competitive shooters have a skull design etched on the surface of their gun or applied via decal. It can remind shooters to be courageous and brave, especially hen the stakes are high. Sometimes life is black and white, whether you like it or not. Yes or no, win or lose, life or death. These are the lessons we learn in life and they can be symbolized the one and only skull.

GunSkins offers the Skull pattern in several varieties. Of course there is the classic black and white version, but we also have a Patriotic version that contains the American Flag inside the skull. Additionally, we also have two other versions that were inspired by the movie American Sniper. We call these Skull Tan and Skull Black, respectively.
