I have been looking forward to easter. In different ways. My motivation was not peaking but my bucket of content was running already on low. So last weekend I did get out of the couch and joined again Sven Gerard and a few Light Painters on yet another to Görlitz / Oybin. @Lichtkunstfoto, @stepko, and @candelart you probably saw some content off. Throughout the night my motivation came back of some sort and went somewhat productive in terms of different images. I did not make it particularly complex or sophisticated. Here you see one set of Light Paintings from the "Braunen Hirsch" made in one of the more brighter rooms. Most of the rooms have that medieval dark mood.

The location is super impressive and I always wonder why it's still not in use besides as a movie set or photo location. It's in the middle of the city right at the main square.

Ich habe mich tatsächlich auf Ostern gefreut. Meine Motivation war nicht am Höhepunkt, aber letztes Wochenende habe ich mich doch von der Couch verabschiedet und mich wieder mit Sven Gerard und ein paar Light Paintern auf einen weiteren Weg nach Görlitz/Oybin gemacht. Von @Lichtkunstfoto, @stepko und @candelart, habt Ihr wahrscheinlich schon Inhalte unser Abenteuer gesehen. Im Laufe der Nacht wurde ich durchaus produktiv und es sind doch mehr Bilder entstanden als ich dachte. Ich habe es nicht besonders komplex oder raffiniert gemacht so kam mehr raus. Hier gibts also eine Reihe von Light Paintings aus dem "Braunen Hirsch", die in einem der helleren Räume entstanden sind. Die meisten Räume sind eher mittelalterlich dunkel.

Die Location ist super beeindruckend und ich frage mich immer wieder, warum sie außer als Filmset oder Fotolocation nicht genutzt wird. Es liegt mitten in der Stadt direkt am Hauptplatz. Es gibt mehr Infos von Sven Gerard. Sein Blogartikel.

Getting inspired

Here I used an effect that I used in one of the previous camera rotations before. When I saw these arches I thought the effect would complement the lines in the architecture. So while @candelart was doing his Light Paintings in this space as I arrived I watched and observed and thought about what I wanted for my images as well. I chose to stick with yellow /orange with white to create a golden-ish impression. Complexity in the architecture and Simplicity of the light makes it work here.

Hier habe ich einen Effekt verwendet, den ich zuvor in einer Kameradrehungen verwendet hatte. Als ich diese Bögen sah, dachte ich, der Effekt würde die Linien in den Bögen komplimentieren und müsste funktionieren. Während @candelart den Raum ausleuchtete, als ich ankam, beobachtete und ich wie er es machte und dachte darüber nach, was ich für meine Bilder wollte. Ich habe mich für Gelb / Orange mit Weiß entschieden, um einen goldenen Eindruck zu erzeugen. Komplexität in der Architektur und Einfachheit des Lichts lassen es hier funktionieren.

Here is the effect test by itself. This is just triggered and moves a circular Light Blade from in front of the lens straight out forward and upwards. A white light was attached to the Light blade.

The next step is of course to illuminate the room and then both together. Thats what you see in the featured Image. That was a 118 Second single-exposure with the camera set to ISO 100 and the lens to F16.

Hier ist der erste Licht-test. Hier hab ich einfach ausgelöst und bewegte das kreisförmige Lichttool vor der Linse gerade nach vorne und nach oben. An der Lichtklinge war ein weißes Licht angebracht.

Nächster Schritt ist natürlich den Raum ausleuchten und dann beides zusammen. Das seht Ihr im Hauptbild oben dann. Dabei war die Kamera auf ISO 100 119 Sekunden offen bei F16.

At last, I wanted to tease Sven by using the most hated Flashlight for any Light Painter. We all made fun of it all the time. I still have an RGB Critter and well the colors are cool .. so I just walked around the room with it and ended in an orb-like shape at the end. So please don't take this one serious 😎

Schließlich wollte ich Sven ärgern, Ich nahm die meistgehasste Taschenlampe aller Lichtmaler und kreirte "Epochale Kunst". Wir haben uns alle die ganze Zeit über den RGB-Critter lustig gemacht. Ich habe noch einen und naja die Farben sind cool.. also bin ich einfach damit durch den Raum gelaufen und am Ende eine kugelähnlichen Form bemalt. Bitte nicht ernst nehmen😎
