Dont Cave in .. Sure we will!
Exploring the far corners of the Calhan Painted Mines
Another set of images from the Calhan Painted Mines near Colorado Springs Co. USA.
Walking around the area I have seen multiple entries of small caves. One of them was right on my way out and I stopped to take a quick Light Painting shot.
Eine weitere Serie von Bildern aus den Calhan Painted Mines in der N盲he von Colorado Springs Co. USA. Bei einem Spaziergang durch die Gegend habe ich mehrere Eing盲nge kleiner H枚hlen gesehen. Einer von denen war direkt auf dem Weg zum Auto, kurz gestoppet und noch ein Light Painting gemacht.
Location? Painted mines
The Paint Mines Interpretive Park near Calhan is east of Colorado Springs in Colorado. Checking the distance from where I was I saw that it was only a little more than an hour's drive. So I decided that has to get into my program. Some Light Paintings should be easily possible.
The Shot
What you see is are single-exposure Light Painting with a 101-second (second Image 94 seconds) open shutter. The Camera was always set to ISO 100 and the Laowa 12mm Zero D F2.8 Lens was set to F16.馃槑
Lokation? Bemalte Minen
Als ich ein wenig recherchierte, fand ich dann doch einige cooler Bilder des Paint Mines Interpretive Park in der N盲he von Calhan in Colorado. Als ich sah, dass es nur etwas mehr als eine Stunde Fahrt war, entschied Ich, dass das Ich da sicher einige Light Paintings hinbekommen sollte.
Das Photo
Was Ihr hier seht, sind Light Paintings mit einer Einzelbelichtung mit einem 101 Sekunden ge枚ffneten Verschluss. Die Kamera war immer auf ISO 100 eingestellt und das Laowa 12mm Zero D F2.8 Objektiv war auf F16 eingestellt.
The Setup
If you have a closer look you see my shadow and get an idea of how big the cave entrance was. Not so big which makes it usually easy to light paint.
Since there was a nice easy slope away from the cave I found a good way to set up the tripod in a way to look upwards but not at an unnatural angle.

Der Aufbau
Bei genauerem Hinsehen sieht man meinen Schatten und bekommt eine Vorstellung davon, wie gro脽 der H枚hleneingang war. Nicht so gro脽, was es normalerweise leicht macht, f眉rs Leight Painting.
Direkt vor der H枚hle gab es diesen leichten Abhang, dr super dazu diente das Stativ so aufzustellen, dass es nur leicht nach oben schaut, aber nicht in einem unnat眉rlichen Winkel.

Here you in see the canyon looking down in the opposite direction. The cave is just down that canyon on the right-hand side after the bend.

Hier seht Ihr die Schlucht in die ich rein bin. Die H枚hle die auf den Fotos zu sehen ist, befindet sich gleich hinter der Biege am Ende des Fotos auf der rechten Seite.

Here is the first view when you reach the area. Next thing you see are the wonderful colors and shapes. These rock formations are definitely worth visiting.
So sieht es aus wenn du auf die Painted Mines zukommst. Wenn Ihr dann runter geht, seht Ihr die fantastischen Farben und Formen. Die Felsformationen sind auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.
