George Herbert was a 17th-century poet and clergyman. In his work "Outlandish Proverbs" from 1640 there is that one famous phrase: "Whose house is of glass, must not throw stones at another." Not sure if Tom was thinking of this when he built his house. This house that I will feature today.
I found that little hut during my last trip to Florida just on the outskirts of Orlando right by a lake.
Tom Fruin's Glass House, also known as the "Kolonihavehus," is renowned for its striking, colorful design. It's constructed from a thousand pieces of salvaged plexiglass and reclaimed steel. This material choice creates a kaleidoscope of colors when light passes through, similar to the effect of stained glass in historic cathedrals. Too bad for me the lights a fixed and I did not have much of a chance to set the light the way I wanted.
Yes, it's cool that visitors can walk around and inside the structure, experiencing the changing light and colors from different angles yet I would have preferred all dark and I could have influenced the way the light goes through. This is mostly the reason I simply chose camera rotation and nothing more complicated.
So see for yourself what came of it.

Diese kleine H眉tte fand ich bei meinem letzten Trip nach Florida, am Rand von Orlando.
Tom Fruins Glass House, auch bekannt als "Kolonihavehus", ist mir weg des bunten Designs aufgefallen. Es besteht aus tausend St眉cken recyceltem Plexiglas und recyceltem Stahl. Dadurch entsteht 'n Farbenspiel, wenn das Licht durchscheint, so 盲hnlich wie bei Buntglas in alten Kirchen. Schade nur, dass die Lampen alle an waren und ich kaum Einfluss darauf hatte, wie das Lichte einf盲llt. Light Painting war so etwas schwieriger.
Ja, cool ist's ja schon, dass man um das Haus rumlaufen kann und das wechselnde Licht und die Farben aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln erleben kann. Aber ich h盲tte es lieber komplett dunkel gehabt und das Licht selbst gestalten k枚nnen. Deshalb hab ich mich einfach f眉r 'ne Kamerarotation entschieden und nicht mehr.
Schau selbst, was dabei rausgekommen ist.

Photo talk: Little Location check first and then lets do this. In the process, I chose two different angles for my photos. As you see there is a lot of light pollution. All I was left with was to crank up the F-Stop and be fast.
Camera Rotation it is.
Das Coole ist, du parkst direkt da neben. Ich meine, in den USA kann man auch nichts anderes erwarten drum sagen wir einfach Danke.
So nun aber Fotos: Einmal rumlaufen als Location Check. Dabei habe ich zwei verschiedene Winkel f眉r meine Fotos gew盲hlt. Wie du siehst, gibt es hier eine Menge Lichtverschmutzung. Alles, was mir blieb, war die Blende hochzudrehen und schnell zu sein.

Was du hier siehst, ist ziemlich genau mein erster Spot f眉r die Kamera Rotationen.
At first I had to align the camera rotation tool. It's always a bit tricky and I don't really take it too seriously. Not striving for perfection and leaving some room for the coincidental and random effects that allow it to become art in the process.
Als Erstes hie脽 es nat眉rlich das Kamerarotationswerkzeug ausrichten, immer ein bisschen knifflig, aber ich nehme das nicht zu ernst. Ich strebe hier nicht nach absoluter Perfektion und lasse so mehr Raum f眉r die zuf盲lligen EffekteSo wirds erst richtig Kunst.
I tested around with the stepping angle and amount of steps I wanted to have. In the end, I just played around with 45掳 and four steps. Then it got wild and I chose the fixed angles as steps first and then during the exposure changed over to "freestyle" and rotated the camera by hand. You see that in the next set of photos.
Erst hab Ich ein bisschen mit dem Schrittwinkeleinstellung und der Anzahl der Schritte herumexperimentiert. Am Ende habe ich einfach mit 45掳 und vier Schritten angefangen. Dann wurde es wild. Hier hab Ich zuerst in vorbestimmten Winkelschritten gedreht und dann auf "freestyle" umgestellt und die Kamera weiter von Hand gedreht. Dazu kommt noch etwa wichtiges: Das seht Ihr in n盲chsten Fotos.
Towards the end, I worked with lens capping for some angular rotation steps, and then, depending on it, with the lens still open, rotated a bit further to also get a few light trails.
Zum Ende hin habe bei einigen Winkelschritten die Linse abgedeckt und dann je nach dem bei offener Linse noch ein bisschen weitergedreht um eben auch ein paar Light Trails zu bekommen.
For the last shot my camera rotation tool was set to 45掳 and I went through all steps individually and capped the lens in-between steps to avoid trails from one to another step. Then at the end, I gave it almost a complete spin while the lens was open. Inspect the light trails closely, they dont close the circle completely. To make it organic and not too perfect it's of course done by hand.
F眉r den letzten Schritt war mein Rotationswerkzeug auf 45掳 eingestellt, und ich ging jeden Schritt einzeln durch, wobei ich die Linse zwischen den Schritten abdeckte, um zu verhindern, dass Lichtspuren von einem Schritt zum n盲chsten 眉bergingen. Am Ende gabs dann eine fast vollst盲ndige Drehung bei offener Linse. Damit es organisch und nicht zu perfekt aussieht, hab ich's nat眉rlich von Hand gemacht.
Camera Rotation, what?
You've seen it in a bunch of my posts. Camera Rotation YES. Exactly what it says: I spin the camera while the shutter of my camera is open. Sometimes I do it step by step, other times I go for a smooth, continuous rotation. And yeah, while I'm at it, I also throw some light on the scene.
Prinzip Kamera Rotation Light Painting?
Wie in Ihr schon in einigen meiner vorrangegangenen Posts gesehen habt, ist Kamera Rotation genau was der Name meint. Ich drehe die Kamera einfach w盲hrend der Belichtung und dabei wird das Subjekt bei jedem Schritt zus盲tzlich noch ausgeleuchtet.
