Stock Market 101:: My Investment in Stock - Bajaj Finserv Ltd...

Well this is not any stock tip but rather some commentary on my investment in stock Bajaj Finserv Ltd; which is into finance-investment sector. The stock has been making big upwards strides in last couple of trading session and today it is up more than 3% which makes its trading price around ₹ 1,853/- Here is the business Mix of the stock that is focused on penetrating small towns (Geo model) and retail segment.
- Motor (Retail) - 28%
- Health (Retail) - 4%
- Group Health - 14%
- Govt health - 16%
- Property, Liability, Engg - 17%
- Agri (Crop Insurance) - 12%
- Others - 9%
My Current Position in Bajaj Finserv Ltd Stock...
Lets now look into my investment in this stock which at the moment is giving me a profit of around 22%. A disclaimer here I have been holding Bajaj Finserv for a long time now and my average purchase price is around Rs.1511/- and looking at it current trading price I am tempted to book all the Rs.17K+ profit. But then this question came to my mind why sell the stock which on a daily basis is rising and it is also expected to give good quarter as per some financial experts. Also the company has delivered good profit growth of 20.4% CAGR over last 5 years - which makes me feel to hold it for some more time maybe until the overall profit become around Rs.20K+ at least.
I know I am being greedy here but lets take on those chances to maximize the profit potential here. Also there is this major news floating around the Bajaj Housing IPO that is making the Shares of Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj Finance to surge exponentially. The IPO will open for subscription between September 9 and 11 as the company plans to raise Rs 6,560 crore. There could be a possibility that the existing share holders get a preference over the retail investors segment and the chances of allotment of shares in the IPO [Initial Public Offering] being higher.
