Regarding Phishing Warnings

The Keys Defender bot uses my lists. The lists are either of:

• phishing domains/hacked domains
• phishing accounts/hacked accounts

When an account or domain is recovered, I remove it off the list. The content of the lists is at my discretion.

I realize this is inconvenient and pisses a lot of people off. The problem is we're on a blockchain and there's an element of finality -- mistakes are irreversible. It's better to be angry than to lose everything.

Regarding 3Speak

3Speak suffered a malicious attack by a person who they placed in a position of trust. The team did a great job recovering their assets and with the help of Privex, securing them. However, the domain ending with .co is still of undetermined fate and we must treat it as a threat until its recovery is confirmed. I will issue announcements myself when there's confirmation and make sure everyone is aware.

Other reasons for warnings

If you have seen warnings or downvotes and don't understand why, it can be one of three reasons:

• you are phished because you've clicked on a malicious link and claimed a nonexistent airdrop
• you downloaded a mobile app that's malware
• you were phished by the old 'Steemengineteam' hacker and haven't changed your keys since then (or confirmed your recovery)

If you are certain that your account is alright, let me know and I'll double-check for you and take you off the list. It's not anyone's intention to keep you on for no reason.

Recovering

• change your keys when you are on a computer and can save the new keys safely
• use Hivesigner and remove posting authorities (most of you have authorities for apps that stopped existing years ago; that's how often you update them)
• check that a powerdown hasn't been started on your account and if it has, check the vesting routes

There are other steps you can take and I'll go over them in detail in a different post. Find me if you believe your account is compromised. If you're simply annoyed or have conflicting beliefs, remember that for every mildly upset person there's multiple phishing victims who lost their entire wallets.
