Civilians are the same in every country through every time in history. Killing them by anyone for any reason is unacceptable. Here you're trying to prove something to a civilian who lost her home. I'm a veteran, I don't know if you are. Civilians aren't soldiers, they just want to live. Go to the park, go to the mall, go about regular every day business. They're unprotected, soft targets and in all wars they're mainly killed either because no one gives a shit about them, in order to inflict morale damage, or to eradicate one type of person.
Here in Canada we had that trucker convoy protest. Lots of people talking about how those protesters were treated better (until they weren't) than other protesters who were simply beaten and removed. But the point should be not who is treated better or worse but that all protesters should be treated well. Same type of argument. Killing one set of civilians doesn't justify killing another set of civilians.
