That website ... it's the legacy of our previous team. I'll be honest with you, it looks unappealing because I hate working with Ruby, which is what it's written in.

The payment to report is a practice that predates all of the current HW members and I actually would have to go through old posts and ask those who were involved at the onset as to how it was started. It's been like this from the beginning. In my understanding, it's the result of community consensus.

I'm not a big fan of the reporting payout for a different reason and that's because it removes some of the anonymity from reporting. We've had a few cases of people being targeted and put at risk because they reported on someone within their community or someone thought they had. This was a major problem in the Korean community especially because people were genuinely afraid, particularly if their real identity was known by community members. Reporting should be fully anonymous.

The blacklist is now on the website as of a few days ago. Originally, it was meant to be secret (I don't recall why, before my time), but that always seemed to us as unproductive. It's now incorporated into the site and a public API is up for it. I'll announce it once we're done testing, very soon.

In the future I want to put up people's timers for blacklist removal and initiation. I'd like to do this on chain but it's not an easy matter to develop this type of functionality. I've been architecting it for a long time now.

We have to keep some identities private, particularly for female members. It's too dangerous. Myself and Logic are always ready and we know the risks. But that's not something we can expect of everyone. It changes how a person lives day to day.
