I've been streaming online for the world to watch for the past six years. The time has been like a whirlwind picking me up and flying me about—I still feel like I’m flying! Gaming has always been part of my life, particularly Mario and Zelda, and I am grateful to have a “job” that allows me to game daily. Not only do I game daily, but I engage a unique audience on the daily.
People often wonder how I am paid to play video games. Let me break it down for you. I can obtain sponsorship deals where a sponsor pays me to promote their product. These are always fun opportunities, and I limit my sponsorship work to brands I enjoy or personally believe in and support. Another revenue stream comes from subscriptions: viewers subscribe to my Twitch channel and pay around $5 a month. Via the Twitch interface, viewers can purchase “bits,” which are little emojis that can be placed in the chatroom as a “cheer” for the streamer. 100 bits = roughly $1 of revenue.
A better method to support me is through direct tips via https://streamlabs.com/gubbatv/tip. These tips can be sent using PayPal or any credit card. Personally, I’m not a fan of PayPal, for various reasons, but it seems they have a monopoly with online payment processing—yikes!!!

Although streamer revenue sources may seem complex, it's just a newer form of entertainment, and the business model is still being carved out defined in modern society. On a side note, I see the comment “Get a real job” less nowadays than I did in 2015 lol.
