I decided to take a walk to the woods on the backside of my property (park as @coquinlimited likes to call it).
Just looking around I saw this broken tree and decided to get a closer look.
I don't have a clue as to what is hollowing out the inside. The debris at the bottom inside is too big for it to be termites and I didn't see any crawling around in it. We do have woodpeckers around here but I've never seen them do this to a tree. Anyone have an idea what's the culprit may be? The hole is pretty deep and symmetrical.
