I have some serious problems with this game.
I tried it years ago with my cousin, we both disliked it. The gameplay was too floaty and simplistic, matches felt way too easy and the UI/UX was simply awful, it still doesn't look the best but that's part and parcel from mobile games.
The community isn't just toxic inside the game, it's absolutely awful everywhere else. I live in Brazil, and yup, everytime a game becomes easily accessible, specially to kids, it tends to become cancerous.
Some aren't even kids and treat this game as the holy grail in gaming, as an incredible title that can't be beat. Of course the memes coming out from this sheer ridiculousness is funny, but I've simply decided to stop talking to FF players now - they can't be reasoned with. It feels like a cult.
I was into this one girl, only 2 years younger than me, what legitimately put me off was her complete addiction to this game. I even suggested we play games together, stuff on my Xbox or PC, co-op games, things that look a million times better or are more fun, to get her into something other than mobile gaming, see if she'd like it - she legitimately tried fighting me over that.
It's just...
Augh.
