I've been collecting records for as long as I can remember, and sometimes it's easy to skip over things, and forget what you've got. I'm going to start listening to things in alphabetical order, it give me a chance to look through my collection again, and give me an opportunity to share things with other music lovers, and vinyl collectors.
The rules are simple, I will start at A, and choose an artist from my collection beginning with that letter, next day I move on to B, then C, etc.
Here's a classic, yet underrated Queen album. Before they had massive success and started selling out stadiums and arenas in the late 70's and 80's, the were an innovative, creative and hard rocking band, sometimes verging on metal.
Released in 1974, it's probably their hardest sounding record, and begins to feature their overdubbed vocal sound which went on to become a trademark sound, leading to classics such as Bohemian Rhapsody.
I can only suggest that you slip on a pair of your favourite headphones and give it a whirl. You won't be disappointed. Here's a few pics of my copy, an original pressing in pretty good shape. Enjoy...
And some music. here's a wonderful live version of 'White Queen'...
And here's 'Seven Seas of Rye', a classic single from the album...
