That's right, there is a small local coffee roaster near me called Rising Star! Let me tell you, the place did the namesake justice (although, I'm sure entirely unintentionally lol)! I wandered up to the store front looking for somewhere to write while I waited for a hair appointment across the street.
Inside, it had a hipster vibe. One of the gals working never made a single facial expression, it was epic. She had cherry-red hair, and looked super mean, so she is probably extremely nice if you talk to her. Do you ever experience that? A lot of mean looking people are friendly, funny enough; I used to think my husband looked mean!😂
I ordered a "Cardamon Bomb" latte, and checked out the items they had for sale. Obviously, mostly coffee. I'm frugal and do not buy artisanal/local beans because... well they cost too much! If I ever find myself with more income, this is the sort of place I'd buy all my beans from. Free trade, locally roasted. What's better than that? For now, I brew Bustelo at home.
After browsing wares that I knew darn well I wasn't buying, I admired the holiday decorations. This just CRACKED me up! Each employee has their own stocking, and then we have "Guy with the Beard"! 🤣 I wish I had taken an additional photo of the wall there, because it was sweet!
Not red-hair doesn't care, but another employee glanced at me taking a picture. I'm an anxious freak, so I blurted out "I have a blog!" which was the worst thing I could say. Now I felt really weird. Am I the kind of person who announces that I have a blog now? Ugh, idk...
My drink comes up, and it's A M A Z I N G! For the price, I wasn't expecting this at all! I have no flipping idea why it has a small soda water, or what the spoon is for. I'm a cavewoman coffee lover, I don't get down on bells and whistles... but it was neat! 🤷♀
I just basked in the beauty of it for a moment, it felt wrong to disturb the wonderful art! Yet, it is much worse to let coffee go cold, and as a mom I already get enough of that!
Hands down the fanciest coffee I've had in quite some time! The cardamon flavor was just right, a hint of razzle-dazzle that buzzed at the edge of a well-rounded taste. I always forget the clarity that fancy coffee has, I probably force myself to tbh, as I'm unlikely to have it often.
Some dude-bro type next to me ruined its effect a bit. I never get why people speak loudly on the phone in public places like this. We're in a maybe 20 by 15 room, and his voice is just bouncing around with its arrogance!
"The future of the internet is meta..." He's a stockbroker of some sort I guess, and if you ask me, not a super good one! 😅 He goes on and on about what kind of portfolio his client should have, and I felt concerned for them.
One reason I was excited to go to this shop, is of course because I love the Rising Star game! I decided to exchange 5 Hive for the 12 pack deal recently, and I'm glad that I did! Since then, my stats have been SO helpful, and I've gained levels a bit quicker!
I also invested in pizza boxes and a coffee cup, which are MINT! I'm still new, so I don't know how many you can have, but I plan to buy more! How nice to have a cold slice to freshen you up 🤣!
Between the twelve packs, there are some really cool cards here! I love that you get a rare card no matter what in each pack, so you know it will be fun to open them!
I've had a lot of fun on Rising Star so far! Of course, my favorite part is the music! On rising star, all the music comes from HIVIANS! That's right, by playing a fun game, you might just find a new favorite artist! The music is diverse, and so far I think I've heard almost every genre! Super Amazing 😍 have you played yet??
If not, I say you're missing out! It was fun to get out of the house, have some non-kid time, and enjoy a fancy coffee! Of course, I didn't play there, on the off chance someone else knew about this awesome game nearby 🤣 but I was excited to tell my husband that I went to Rising Star (He knows I'm a Buskerian hehe) when I got home!
