Hello, Paladins is by many people called Overwatch clone and in many things, this game is really similar, but it is not a clon at all. So if you are interested in what Paladins really is and in which it is better or worse than Overwatch read on! And I uploaded gameplay of it, so you can check it out!

What is Paladins?

Paladins is Free to Play Hero-Based Shooter. There are two teams of five people agains each other in objective based arena. Unlike Overwatch that is 6v6.

Game Modes

There is many maps, but each of them is designed for certain game mode.

Siege

Round based game mode where each team works to earn Objective Points to win the match. 4 Objective Point are needed to win a match.
These points are earned by:
• Taking control of a Capture Point (+1)
• Escorting the Payload into the enemy team's base (+1)
• Stalling the enemy team's Payload until the time runs out (+1)

Onslaught

Team Death Match and King of the Hill hybrid game mode.
To win, players must earn tickets by accomplishing different tasks:
• Killing a player scores the team 5 tickets.
• Controlling the large area in the middle of the arena earns 1 ticket per second. This area is controlled as long as there is one player and no opponents within it.

Payload

Very similar to Siege, but without capturing the point. Payload has two rounds Attack and Defend. Attacking team has Payload at the beginning of the match. After the first round the sides are exchanged.

Characters

Playable characters are called Champions and each of them has unique abilities and play-style. Every Champion has deck of cards to change they abilities little bit or boost them, this is an unique thing that Overwatch does not have.

Champions are organized into 4 different types:
Front Line – These champions have the best stamina and are made for maintaining objectives. They are basically tanks.
Damage – Champions made for dealing damage. They does not have much HP, but more than a Flank.
Support – Made for healing your allies. I am support main!
Flank – Ninja-like champions, they have high mobility and damage, but really low HP.

Pay to Win?

Absolutely no, you can buy Loot boxes that cointans cosmetics upgrades only. So you will not lose to some rich kid and the devs will have money for food :D

Better than Overwatch?

So this is a hard one. Both games are very similar, but they are unique in their own ways. Overwatch feels more polished, but no shit, their budget is huge! Paladins feels more casual and that can be a good thing for chill after work. However some people like it more competetive and I am one of these people. At the and of the day, Paladins is a great game that can be recommended to every one who loves shooters and not just because it is for free.
