I understand why your mother does not want help with the gardening. My children have attempted to help me with my plants, but they do not know my plants like I do. The carnivorous plants need special water (distilled) and a long time ago, my son accidentally put tap water on all of them and they all died. He did not mean to do that, but he did not know. But as you see, I have plenty of them again.
