It's feeling more like Fall on the homestead, which always reminds me that winter is coming! I'm using this time to insulate and weatherproof the shop further with the plans to be productive and active in the shop all through winter -- producing both goods and videos for you guys!
I begin with cleaning off the wall and dismantling the shelves and workbench in the area. This kind of situation is why I prefer to build with screws -- much easier to take apart and reuse the materials.
Next, I ran some rough electrical wires through the studs in preparation of future outlets. Then we began installing insulation into the wall, stapling the paper to the studs.
I then cut a piece of the plywood paneling to length for attaching to the wall. I have all outlets and windows at the same height in the shop -- 48 inches off the ground. This makes installing paneling easy, but it's mostly because I want to have access to the outlets not have tools block the windows in the shop.
The paneling is actually 1/4 inch plywood underlayment designed to be put on the floor and have other flooring installed over top of it (stone, wood). I like it for the shop walls because it is very strong and durable, is relatively cheap, and comes pre-primed white.
The stopping point for today.
That's is for this Vlog and Shop Update, thanks for watching/reading and following us on our journey as we live out in the country on our one acre homestead!
