Hi steemians! Have a nice day! Here i am again to present a plant that you will love. Today our plants to present is "AMORPHOPHALLUS"(AMORPHOPHALLUS NATOLII)
What is Amorphophallus?
Amorphophallus is a large genus tropical and subtropical tuberous herbacious plants,native to Asia,Africa,Australia and varoious oceanic islands.
The term Amorphophallus was derived from ancient greek Amorphous which mean "without form,mishappen "and phalos meaning "penis" reffering to the shape of the prominent spadix.
Amorphophallus natolii is a new species described in 2012 and known occur in limestone hills of El Nido, Palawan Philippines.
It differs most distinctly from other species of amorphophallus with a densely hairy appendix by its much smaller size and dominant reddish pinkish colors of the bract enclosing the flower cluster.
This species is listed critically endsngered because of its very limited area of occurrence.
