Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
The righteous is one who has a right standing (personal, consistent, intimate relationship) with the Almighty God. He's one who refuses to compromise, but live a holy life despite all difficulties. Such persons have never and will never be forsaken by God. The Holy Spirit, through the psalmist uses the word 'forsaken' because the righteous will surely face storms. In fact, as a righteous son of God, the higher you are in the things of God, the tougher the storms against your boat. Here's the good news: no matter the direction to which the wind take you, Jesus is always there to declare peace upon your life.
The righteous is not only covered, his seed(children) are also covered and provided for. God destroys lack, shame, oppression in the family of the righteous. It's important to note that the righteous must be consistently righteous and note waver in the wind of confusion. Focus in the midst of problems qualifies the righteous from being destroyed.
Are you righteous? If you have Jesus and the Spirit of God dwells in you, you are righteous. When sin becomes your enemy, not human beings, you are righteous. When you love others with the love of Christ unconditionally, you are righteous.
Keep being righteous and the Lord will never forsake you.
Righteous Father, thank you for not forsaking us even when we fall into errors. Please give us the grace to stay righteous and holy in all our doings, in Jesus name. Amen.
