1 Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
In life, there are things to refuse or distance yourself from. One of such is profanity and unnecessary discussions. It's important to avoid conversation that can stand against us before God. Today, we are admonished to rather be overwhelmed with godliness. Godliness connotes being decent in all things including our speech, according to the will of God.
God expects us to be careful with words, for through words He created the whole world. Brethren, in all we do, let godliness guide us, for in due time we shall give account before God. Jesus said, every idle word shall be accounted for. Let us be wise in speech.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your wisdom upon us. Please deliver us from profanity and give us the grace to remain godly till the end, in Jesus name. Amen.
