And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. — Luke 9:62 (KJV)
Beloved, here is Jesus painting a powerful picture of how our walk with God should be. The plough (a farm equipment) permit only a forward concentration when used. This depicts the virtues of focus, dedication and commitment. That's to say,if you have started following Christ you need to apply the above virtues. Never look back at the distractions of ungodly associations, storms of life, disappointments, family issues, pleasures of sin, etc.
In the words of Jesus, "no man ' that does this is fit for the kingdom. It doesn't matter the person's position in church, past service to God, etc. Looking back brings disqualification. Are you tempted to backslide cuz of pressures from all angles? Are you feeling that your good works are not yielding results? Hold on to Christ, for nothing justifies a Looking back '.Stay focused, dedicated and committed for the suffering of this present time cannot be compared with the glory that awaits us at the finishing line. I love you, dear.
Let's pray together.
Abba Father, thank you for giving us the opportunity to run this Christian race lo these years. Please help us to overcome the flesh and stay steadfast till the end, in Jesus name. Amen.
