that got edited a bit afterwards, with this being the second version. I think there's still a bunch to do here... the piano definitely is going to be removed, replaced with a synth sound of some kind. I used 2 copies of 2 drum kits here, the Onomatopoeia kit and the Analog Face kit. The Onomatopoeia kit provides all the weird cliky sounds. I also used the 'NestUp' Max for Live plugin to make a clip with 19 beats over each 4 bar section. I used that for the hi-hats, removing some hits, randomly affecting the velocity a bit across them. I then added 'snare' sounds by just dropping one of the hi-hats to the snare line, so even though everything was off grid, they lined up internally. I do like the principle of that, but I'm not sure the actual beat is my favorite thing ever. I do like Track 7 a lot. This uses Pendulate with an arpeggiator, and plays the same chords as Track 6. However, it also has a super heavy gate on, sidechained to the Onomatopoeia hi-hats, so, along with the arp. it has a really cool glitchy rhythm. In the break, there's a weird minor chord planing thing... I don't love that part, so I'll delete a bunch of this and see what happens.
