Sydney V Melbourne - Which is Australia's Greatest City. Well firstly being a proud Aussie I love both Cities, though to be brutally honest I live in Melbourne and it's very liveable City. Ok let's break it down in terms of population, Sydney has a population of 10% greater than Melbourne and a more consistent warm weather than Melbourne.Which City has the best beaches..well Sydney wins hands down, Bondi,Balmoral beaches to name a few spectacular beaches.Now let's be specific we are talking Sydney V Melbourne not New South Wales v Victoria as some of Victoria's beach coastline are breathtaking. Sydney is the pretty city of deep blue waters in the world renowned Sydney Harbour, including the famous bridge and Opera House. Sadly that's where it ends..Melbourne is arguably the Sporting Capital and events capital of the world! Grand Prix Car and Motorcycle racing, The Spring Carnival horse racing which extends for two weeks with the famous Melbourne Cup. The Afl Grand Final, Australian Open Tennis, The Arts, The Nightclubs, Coffee shops!! Melbourne is the "Little Europe" Quant laneways, eateries in Lygon St of Italian origin, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Indian - Melbourne is the "Multicultural Mecca" Overall if I was a tourist I would spend 3-5 Days in Sydney and 1-2 Weeks in Melbourne, Melbourne has a "Soul" like no other yet Sydney is a Magnificent, Picturesque City an International City! Whatever takes your fancy - whilst different both are two Magnificent Cities!
