Just sitting here this morning catching up on the news feed. I am reared back in my recliner with a throw blanket pulled up around my neck. My little dog is curled up beside my legs. She has buried her nose into a fold of the blanket. It is cold outside, and even though we have central heat, set at 70*, it always seems colder inside when it is cold outside.
Why does 70* feel so good when it is hot outside, but it does not seem warm enough when it is cold outside. Why do I need to have a blanket this morning. 70* is 70* no matter what the weather is. RIGHT??
Anyway, as I sat here with the heat on, lights on, faithful dog at my side, cozy blanket up to my neck; I could go on and on, but you get the picture. I am so awestruck at how comfortable my life is. When was the last time I thanked the Heavenly Father for my home? Electricity, lights, heat, warm blankets, clean warm socks to keep the tootsies toasty?
An attitude of gratitude is more than just a phrase. I am forever grateful for all my blessings. I am especially grateful for those processes that "run in the background". Unseen, unheard, unappreciated until you stop and really look around and say, "Father, thank you for all that surrounds me this day. I praise you for all your blessings, seen and unseen."
So, now having spoken of this, and sharing it with these written words, somehow my blessings have been multiplied and I am at peace with the world. And oooh, this coffee is sooo good.
