I agree with you 100%. I know it’s not easy to do that, it was lovely. But I’m sure you watched it labor and struggle for minutes and couldn’t stand to see it suffer any longer. There’s no chance it would heal and take off in flight. Some other animal or car would have killed it, possibly even a slower death. You felt it crying out for help to end its suffering, I say good job.
