I called this coloring page "Waif With Dragon" .
I was imagining a small girl with her pet dragon a somewhat apocalyptic situation.
I have always made coloring pages for my site over the years. However, when the "adult-coloring" craze began I started making much more complex drawings, and these proved to be very challenging. As an artist I do like a challenge.
What I found is that you have to really plan a coloring page. People have to be able to color every inch of the drawing, and you have to create the art with closed off areas so that coloring it is easy.
Otherwise you have areas the just blend into other areas and "colorists" tend to like to be able to color definitive areas.
You can see the messy detail as I decide on each piece of the puzzle.
I even started to shade the image and I show the tools of the trade...
I found that tracing over the sketch with black ink was important to isolating the various areas of the puzzle and generally cleaning up the sketch.
If you notice I have even used some white ink to highlight and clean up a few various areas.
When I have the finished tracing with black ink I do a scan. By placing this on white paper it makes a good scan. I usually take this to a printing place to get a good scan.
I invite you to right-click and then click "save as" to put on your computer and print off in order to color it.
Please post your coloring here in the comments. I would love to have comments and/or coloring.
Anyway have fun.
