So You're Stranded on a Small Desert Island...

I love top five lists! Last night I was out with some friends, having a late night snack at a local cafe. We started talking about if we could only listen to 5 bands for the rest of our lives what bands would they be? Which got me thinking, if I was stranded on a small desert island, what would I want with me. Assuming that there is access to fresh water, and that you have basic survival knowledge enough to seek/build appropriate shelter.

1. A solar panel/battery array. I want this for several reasons, which will become very clear with my next item.
2. An mp3 player/tablet or similar device to listen to my music/read books.
3. A fire starter. Fire is life, and food needs to be cooked.
4. A space blanket. Warmth is also important and it gets cold in the desert at night.
5. Bug Net. While I personally am not susceptible to malaria, contracting Zika or some other horrible blood borne illness while alone sounds awful.

I am largely an introvert which is why I literally don't care if I ever get off the island. A few decades of solitude sound really good actually! As long as I can read, and listen to music, I will be perfectly content.
