My journey first started when I was casually browsing the business and finance board on 4chan, which is actually where my profile picture comes from.
This image is meant to represent the way someone feels when their investments are doing well. That's why it's green.
I found out about a mobile app called MinePi on /biz/ and downloaded it so I could "Mine" some pi, but as it turned out, this was a different sort of currency than the likes of Bitcoin or Ether. Pi was the first time I had ever been exposed to the concept of proof-of-stake. I thought that this made Pi unique, but then I found a link on the Pi discord server that took me to another discord server for a blockchain project called cactus coin, which is still in extremely early development.
One of the users there posted yet another link which lead me to steem. After reading the FAQ, I immediately rushed to make an account, but I had to wait in the 72 hour queue. It told the user on the CactusCoin discord server that I followed the link, but I was immediatly told that it was a bad idead, and that I should use HIVE instead. I asked him why.
He told me about Justin Sun. You all know the story of course, so I won't restate it. I went to Hive.io. I read the FAQ. I made and account with Esteem.
Now I'm here. I don't think I've ever been this excited in my life. This is a whole new corner of internet culture that is still in its early stages. Not only could I create anything, I could get paid for it too!
This is truly the best platform I have ever seen in my life. I am certain that I will be using this blockchain and its DApps for years. I was already considering deleting my reddit account. This pushed me over the edge. Long live Hive. Our creativity and our community will bring humanity into a new golden age.
