My spiritual mother used to say; my daughter finish your schooling and wait for God's timing and plan before getting into marriage. She kept on reminding me that marriage is not easy and it's a life time commitment to your future husband to be. Now let me share to you a bit about the marriage in Cambodia which was my first time to attend also.

In other provinces of Cambodia, at the age of 16 they can get marry already even both of them are still studying. If the guy wants to marry the girl, there must be a dowry to give to the girl's family. The lowest dowry to give is 5000 USD if both families are poor. It's also depends on the background of the girl's family, like if the girl is well-educated and is really rich they will ask around 20000 USD just to marry the girl.
Usually the wedding last for 3 days here in Cambodia and most of the time the venue is just outside their house with a big and long tent. Only those people whom the couple invited will join the wedding.
When the couple invited you, they will give you an invitation card with an envelope for you to put money inside it and put it in the box before going home. Putting an envelope with money inside it's a sign of respect and blessing to the couple though some Cambodians don't oblige their foreigner friends to do that but they do give to bless them. During the reception where everybody is waiting for the food to be serve, it doesn't matter if you are early or late because each seats should be occupied before the food will be serve. So if you come early and sit in a table with 3-4 people in it, you have to wait until all the seats are being occupied before they serve the food.
In the Philippines if we get marry, we usually just wear our wedding gown but here in Cambodia, according to my friend which they had their wedding last 2 months ago, they change every hour or depends on every event. They change clothes at least 5 times or so in a day. It was such a nice experienced to attend one of Cambodian wedding here in Cambodia.
I am just imagining if I will be marrying a Cambodian if it's God's Will, I will be doing the same thing, like changing clothes like these photo which I tried before wearing their traditional clothes.
Sad to say that a lot of Cambodian couple doesn't stayed for a long time especially when they got married in an early age. That's why I am always reminded by my spiritual mother to wait patiently, don't be in a hurry and pray, because God already prepared the perfect man for you.
