For gamers, one of the best ways to connect with your audience or community is to interact with them live—as multiple platforms have demonstrated. On Hive, Hive account@vimm has been our channel’s native platform for this purpose since 2018.

We currently have a Vimm.tv framework that was created by Vimm co-founder Hive account@chiren a few days ago. I’ve been testing it, and it has everything you need to get started and run a stream that can be monetized from the very first broadcast. Compared to existing platforms, it’s decentralized and offers the potential to generate more revenue than traditional apps of the same type.

With that in mind, here’s a tutorial I prepared so you don’t miss out if you want to share your live games with your Hive community directly using a native streaming app on our own blockchain. I hope you find it useful.

Para los gamers una de las mejores formas de conectar con tu audiencia o comunidad es estar con ellos en contacto en vivo, lo han demostrado múltiples plataformas, en Hive Hive account@vimm ha sido desde 2018 la plataforma nativa de nuestra cadena para este uso.

Actualmente tenemos un Framework de Vimm.tv que fue creado por el cofundador de Vimm Hive account@chiren hace unos días estoy probándolo y tiene lo suficiente para poder ser usado y tener un stream que puede monetizar desde la primera transmisión a comparación de las plataformas existentes, es descentralizado y tienes la posibilidad de generar mas que en apps del mismo tipo tradicionales.

A partir de eso te dejo aquí un tutorial que preparé para que no te pierdas si quieres compartir tus partidas en vivo con tu comunidad de Hive directamente con una app de stream nativa de nuestra misma blockchain, espero les sea de utilidad.

Usando VimmTV

Lo primero será ingresar a la plataforma, así como en la foto se vera y en la aparte de arriba en la derecha tendrás el botón de Login, este será con Hive Keychain.

It's very intuitive here—just enter your username and authorize with @Keychain. After that, you'll see various options, including the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), where you can look things up on your own if anything in this tutorial isn't clear enough.

Aquí es muy intuitivo, es solo poner nombre de usuario y autorizar con @Keychain, después de eso lo siguiente que puedes ver son las diferentes opciones, entre ellas el conocido FAQ que son las preguntas frecuentes, ahí puedes consultar por tu cuenta si algo no queda suficientemente claro en este tutorial.

There are also Home, Discovery, and Favorites buttons, some of which don't work yet—I'll explain why later.

Así como también tienes los botones de Home, Discovery y favoritos que aun no funcionan algunos y mas adelante te comentaré porque.

Next, we need to hover over our avatar in the top-right corner and click on “Stream Key.” This will bring up the screen shown above. You’ll need to grant it “Posting Authority” so you can post on Hive. From there, click “Generate Stream Key,” and then we’ll head over to OBS.

Lo siguiente que tenemos que hacer es poner el cursor sobre nuestro avatar situado arriba a la derecha y daremos clic en Stream Key y tendremos la pantalla que te muestro aquí arriba, tendrás que otorgarle Posting Authority para que puedas publicar en Hive, de ahí darás clic en generar Stream Key y de ahí nos vamos a OBS.

I won't go into too much detail here about how to configure OBS, but what you need to do is open the “Settings” menu in the bottom-right corner and then go to “Broadcast.” This is where you'll enter your Stream Key in the “Custom” service option along with the server address. Then click the ‘Apply’ button and “OK” in the bottom-right corner.

Aquí no hondaré tanto en como configurar OBS pero lo necesario es abrir la opción de abajo a la derecha de "ajustes" y después ir a "emisión" aquí es donde pondrás tu Stream Key en la opción de Servicio "personalizado" junto con la dirección del server. Luego darás al botón de aplicar y aceptar de la parte de abajo a la derecha.

Now let's go back to Vimm, where you'll see your avatar in the top-right corner, and select the “Streamer Dashboard” option. In this section, you'll be able to set a title for your stream, a description that will serve as the body of your Hive post, the category you'll be streaming in, and the language you're using.

At this point, after filling in the fields, don’t forget to click “Save Settings”—this is very important to save your changes. Every time you go to stream, I recommend adding a new description and a new title; this will prevent your content from looking like spam.

Ahora regresamos a Vimm a donde esta nuestro avatar en la parte superior derecha y ponemos la opción de Streamer Dashboard, en este apartado tendremos las opciones de poner titulo a nuestro stream, una descripción que serpa el cuerpo del post en Hive y la categoría que transmitirás y el idioma que usas.

En este punto después de rellenar los recuadros no te olvides de clickear "Save Setting" muy importante para que se guarden los cambios, cada vez que vayas a hacer stream te recomiendo poner una nueva descripción así como un nuevo titulo, eso hará que no parezca spam tu contenido.

Once that's done, go back to OBS—which you've already set up with your scenes and sources—and voilà, you can stream natively on Hive, in a decentralized manner.

Notes:

• We currently have no news about updates; the last one we received was this one: @vimm/vimm-open-source-live-streaming-dev-update-2025-01-03

• There are known bugs, and the latest news and updates were also shared on Discord; here’s the server link in case you want to check it out yourself: https://discord.gg/7R96vFFA2e

• The fact that you can’t follow channels makes the favorites button useless, but everything else works.

• Important: Please note that once you start your stream, you must not stop it. If you do, your status will change from “OnLive” to ‘Offline’ when the stream ends, and your post will be updated to “Stream ended.” This means your stream will no longer be viewable, even if you return or continue streaming. So remember not to stop your stream until it's finished.

Listo de ahí regresas a OBS previamente configurado con tus escena y fuentes y voila, puedes trasmitir de forma nativa en Hive, descentralizadamente.

Notas :

• Actualmente no tenemos noticias de actualizaciones la ultima que recibimos fue esta @vimm/vimm-open-source-live-streaming-dev-update-2025-01-03

• Hay errores conocidos y las ultimas noticias o actualizaciones se dieron también por Discord, te dejo el server por si quieres mirar por ti mismo. https://discord.gg/7R96vFFA2e

• El hecho de que no se puedan seguir los canales deja sin uso el botón de favoritos, pero todo lo demás funciona.

• Importante, el framework tiene el detalle de que no debes de detener tu stream una vez iniciado pues al terminar se cambiará tu estado de OnLive a Offline y tu post se editará a Stream terminado, lo cual hará que ya no se pueda ver tu stream aunque regreses o sigas en vivo. Así que recuerda no cortes tu stream hasta terminar.
