- Ignoring one's other responsibilities
- Missing other types of knowledge
- Missing the whole picture
- Mistakes caused by familiarity
- Slowing down brain functions
- Ignoring unconventional knowledge
- Over-trusting one's knowledge, logic, and intelligence
