People always talk about luck as if it's some spiritual force that favours some people I see luck as the opportunity that was siezed at a particular time. Let me clarify with an example.
A friend of mine participated in a raffle draw/ contest the procedure includes you gathering 10 candy wraps and submitting it to the company then await your result .
On that day we waited but nothing came forth, one by one we left her with her roommate who insisted that they stay till the end. She was on her way to enter a taxi when her roommate called her to tell her that her raffle number has been called. She happily received her prize.
Now look at this scenario, all her friends said she was lucky but actually she didn't sit still and won the prize money from the candy company. She followed the due proceedures and waited till the show was over.
For unlucky people, I will use my analogy for lucky people to define them. These are people who failed to sieze opportunities at a particular time. Let me give an example of unlucky people.
When I was in high school, we usually go to the library during our free periods. Instead of reading our books we make noise, the noise usually starts small then it escalates attracting teachers to punish us. Now when the noise starts at a minimal level two of my classmates would leave the library hence preventing them from getting punished.
They were always regarded as the lucky boys and were never punished.
Finally I'll give an example from my experience. A month ago I nearly got hit by a car while crossing the street. I rushed out from my apartment and I didn't look both ways before crossing, while crossing somehow I realized my mistake and forcefully stopped myself midway and as I turned,, a car came from my lane and and grazed me a little and sped off. I felt so overwhelmed from the experience but all my neighbors told me that I was so lucky meanwhile if I hadn't stop I would've been hit.
