This is the very first Stephen King novel you have ever read? Wow, you have a lot of treats ahead of you as this man has a ton of really good books, some of which were so wonderfully described that the words gave me nightmares as a child. That is pretty special ability when words can conjure up images so profound that they get stuck in your mind... that's real horror.

Stephen King also has a bunch of crap that I feel he was obligated to publish because of some contract. My favorites of his include non horror ones such as "The Green Mile."
