I prefer real books because referring back to previous parts is so much easier and I am a bit strange with my memory and will often need a recap of sorts before I continue. But I live in Vietnam and English-language books are few and far between and while you can order them, you will get schalacked with shipping fees. Therefore I read off Kindle for the most part and for me one of the big benefits is the built in dictionary. Sometimes though, since I don't see the front of the book when I am reading on a Kindle, I will often finish a book and not know the author or the title. There have been multiple times that I have started to read something and then realize a few chapters in that I have already read this book.

I find that audiobooks have a purpose, like when I am trying to go to sleep. The one caveat is that when you do fall asleep, there isn't much liklihood that you are going to know where you "stopped."

I mostly read to fall asleep because like most people I feel the temptation to check out the many screens in my life and this leads to bad sleeping habits. Reading konks me out in an hour or so.

If I had a choice I would always read a real book over a kindle one. I didn't use the public library system very often when I lived in USA and that is a damn shame. The ignorance of youth!
